Interim Head of Operational Risk

As an interim with this organisation you will be part of building something that will leave a genuine legacy.
It makes good business sense for the organisation to have a strong risk framework including the management of operational risk. Part of good risk management is to ensure that risks are identified, controls are in place and that controls are operating effectively and as such should be tested by the department operating the controls.
The second line will independently verify that the assessment made by the first line is appropriate. Head of Operational Risk will be responsible for implementation of appropriate risk framework (including some enterprise wide elements), supervise two staff members who are responsible for risk advisory and risk assurance activities as well as engage the business in capital management and scenario and stress testing the business. They will be responsible for supporting the Chief Risk Officer in overseeing the risk framework, including its governance and assessing risk against appetite, liaising with Treasury and providing reports. This individual will be able to coach other leaders in how to embed controls and risk management into their day to day processes. Understanding how improvements can be made will provide continuous improvements
About you
The individual must have a good knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management ; designing and carrying out oversight activity; providing regular reporting and MI; able to consider the wider implication on the bank of internal or external incidents; have experience in scenario and stress testing of operational impacts; understand ICAAP processes from an operational risk perspective.

This is a 6 month interim contract paying £600-700 per day ( Inscope of IR35 Umbrella Rate)
