You will take a key role in advising the business on a range of commercial matters including working closely with their customers and helping their operations team. This role is based in Swindon, however the business also offers the opportunity to work very flexibly in a hybrid environment, with a mix of both home and office working. They are also happy to hear from candidates who are looking for part-time hours. There is a generous benefits package presented with the role, including a car allowance and up to 20% bonus opportunity.

Your new role
Working alongside the General Counsel, you will provide pragmatic commercial advice with specific responsibility for day-to-day legal matters across the various functions within the Group and with particular emphasis on commercial law, contract drafting/negotiation and contract management. You will provide general and commercial legal support to businesses in the Group, including advice on tender proposals, contract drafting, review and negotiation, dealing with ad-hoc customer/supplier complaints; corporate support in relation to the Group's M&A strategy, advising on UK competition law and data protection matters, supporting with intellectual property and IT matters and providing first level support in relation to dispute resolution You will manage external advisors on discreet matters and assist with drafting trading and internal company policies and deal with compliance/enforcement issues.

About you

You will have experience in a non-contentious commercial role with the ability to engage and build rapport with stakeholders. You will be a qualified solicitor permitted to practice in England and Wales, ideally with circa 2-7 PQE, however applications with more or less experience will not be dismissed. Applications are welcomed from both private practice and in house backgrounds. In-house exposure would be an advantage but is not critical.

This presents as an exciting opportunity, working closely alongside a dynamic General Counsel. For further information, please contact Harriet Chapman at Hays Legal.
