Responsible for overseeing safety aspects for a large value construction project. Clientside role, managing the interface between contractors, design teams etc. and ensuring H&S policy, procedure and rules are adhered to at all times.

Description
Provide advice and assist contractors to fulfil their CDM duties
Ensure that Contractors prepare and submit F10 notifications
Liaise with design teams to identify key hazards
Identify and collate pre–construction information
Liaise with construction teams to ensure that there is an ongoing exchange of health & safety information
Undertake site health & safety inspections
Ensure all relevant employees receive suitable health & safety training, maintain and develop all safe systems of work
Combined ISO9001, 18001 & 14001 audits, being part of the team achieving these standards for the company
Ensure all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated
Prepare health and safety strategies and develop internal policy for construction projects
Collation of health and safety statistics for internal reporting requirements
Participate in external monthly meetings to monitor health and safety performance
Participate in internal weekly/monthly meetings when required to report on relevant health & safety matters
Review and accept, if applicable, incident reports from contractors including participation in any investigation panel
Foster an "Safety First" culture of data driven continuous improvement for all aspects of the departments, supporting and implementing our safety culture, policies, and procedures across projects.
Oversees risk assessment and risk mitigation measures on–site and before commencement of projects.
Undertakes corrective and preventive measures to ensure a proper HSE compliance and ownership for our construction sites
Ensures that work safety permits are enforced as necessary at all sites
Engage all department employees in safety issues and set high personal standards through a highly visible, hands–on management style
Through written policy and procedures ensure that regular emergency response is effective, and that managers and employees are prepared at all times,
Support the management of key external interfaces including prime responsibility for HSE, consultants, legislation and where appropriate local community representatives
Maintain safety statistics and create reports that reflect the performance of the site to relevant parties such as, upper management.
Ensure project site leadership and associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each Safety policy
Oversee work performed by relevant contractors and consultants.
Build collaborative relationships with various stakeholders to ensure risks are identified early and managed in a timely manner.
Assist sites with record keeping and periodic reviews to ensure record retention requirements are met. Ensure compliance calendar regulatory requirements.
Show initiative to identify and implement corrective actions to eliminate any observed non–compliance or potential non–compliance situations.
Maintain site training records and coordinate training classes for site personnel.
Profile

NEBOSH Construction Health & Safety Certificate
Principal designer competency and qualification
Ability to challenge and work as part an integrated design team
Client facing
Proven track record of managing safety performance of turn–key contractors
Has extensive knowledge and experience of CDM
Has experience of site–based inspections for fast paced, systemised building works
Experienced in taking a team orientated approach, working alongside delivery teams
Experience with HSE regulations and agency interaction.
Ability to manage multiple sites/remotely where applicable.
Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others and achieve results.
Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability
Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies
Ability to adapt well to fast–paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy
Proficient in Microsoft Office and the use of pivot tables and the development of charts and graphicsCandidate must be able to drive, you will be home based with site travel a minimum of 1 day per week.
