We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Combat Systems Engineer to join our clients proactive and innovative team
To provide Combat Systems Engineering expertise for MEWSIC, particularly the integration and interfacing of MEWSIC to specific Naval Combat Management Systems/Shared Infrastructure.
Preferably a degree qualified, chartered engineer or working towards chartered status within a recognised and relevant professional body.
The SE may hold an HNC in a relevant engineering discipline in concert with significant and demonstrable subject matter expertise in the system domain
Key areas of focus:
Delivery of C5ISR systems across the SE life cycle, including an understanding of the CADMID life cycle and its alignment with systems/product life cycles;
Domain expertise in one of the following:
Electronic Warfare systems;
Combat Management Systems/Shared Infrastructure
Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance;
Military RADAR systems;
Military communications networks (WAN and LAN);
Creation and management of interface control documents, interface specifications, data exchange specifications and interface certificates;
Creation and maintenance of technical documentation/reports for systems and/or projects as applicable;
Ability to specify technical requirements as part of procurement activities;
Preparation and presentation of installations, setting to work and acceptance of Combat Systems to an Accepting Authority;
Conversant with the MoD Knowledge in Defence (KiD) framework and associated design, build, test and acceptance processes;
Demonstrate a drive to deliver results on time, meeting cost and quality targets, taking ownership of problems / issues whilst working diligently towards a resolution;
Be proactive and capable of operating with minimal supervision;
Be a good communicator, both written and oral, and able to liaise at all levels with customers/stakeholders;
Computer literate with MS Office skills;
The use of commercial SE and modelling tools is desirable, e.g. Rhapsody, DOORS, UML;
Capable of obtaining security clearance of SC as a minimum. There may be a requirement to undertake Develop Vetting (DV) and be read on at STRAP
