The Group Chief Security Office has a rare opportunity for an outstanding person to join as the Head of Joint Security Operations Centre (JSOC). This leader, working with their key colleagues, will identify and safeguard our organisation from intrusion, security threats, security weaknesses, software bugs and exploits. As leader of this team responsibility for both colleagues and the management processes keeping our organisation secure will be included in your remit.

You'll be responsible for the overall Cyber & Physical operations of our organisation as well as having accountability for Physical Security (Portfolio ownership, Security advisers). This is an important role covering strategic oversight and all elements of Cyber and Physical Security in the Group. As well as day–to–day operations, responsibility for strategic vision, scoping of requirements, system design, production implementation, incident response, budgetary control and alignment to any necessary protocols, regulations or legal requirements will also form part of the role.
Your role will encompass liaison with senior level directors and other key customers plus managers, analysts, programmers and other IT Security risk–assessment professionals within LBG. Incorporating;

Compliance with any government standards and related legislation, such as the Data Protection Act and ISO standards.

Budget forecasting, financial forecasts relating to your team.

Leading all aspects of recruitment, day–to–day dispute resolution.

Management of partners, key customers, vendors or third party service and solution providers.
Additional accountabilities will include;

Line management experience gained in a similar organisation over many years.

In depth project management skills.

Good understanding of current legislation and regulations pertaining to your organisation.

Successful track record of effective project coordination, prioritisation, collaboration, organisation and timely project delivery.

Experience in financial forecasts and budget allocation.

Knowledge of relevant IT Security related hardware, software and vendor solutions.

An overall understanding of the scripting and source code programming languages, such as C#, C++, .NET, Java, Perl, PHP, Python etc.

Practical experience of all computer operating systems such as MS Windows, UNIX/Linux etc.

Ability to quickly get to the root cause of issues.

Ability to be organised, efficient and able to work under your own initiative.

Additionally you must have a number of years of relevant experience obtained within a variety of IT Security related roles. Your in–depth knowledge will enable you to effectively manage all major aspects of this exciting and fast pace role.
