Head of Events – Financial Services – City – GBP55,000 circa per annum – Temp

Wise May are looking for a Events Manager to lead the delivery of around 50 events per year, ensuring each runs to schedule and on budget. This position is a temporary role with a duration of 4 months.

This fast paced events team are extremely busy yet super friendly. This position comes with being line manager for 4 employees including a Manager.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Own and lead on the planning, organisation and delivery of events with the wider team.
  • Lead on events technology and creative outputs including design (working with an external agency), events engagement tools and marketing.
  • Ensure the customer relationship management system (CRM) is administered and used to its full functionality from an events and member engagement point of view.
  • Input into the events business planning process by meeting with all teams and collating events wishes for the following year, compiling a draft calendar and producing draft budgets.
  • Be responsible for the management for each allocated event, working with colleagues in other departments who will undertake appropriate administrative tasks. This also includes monitoring and submitting budgets.
  • Manage external relationships with suppliers, sponsors, external speakers.
  • Lead and manage ad hoc project work and take ownership of keeping projects on schedule.

Skills and Experience:

  • Events expertise – you know how to lead the organisation of corporate events and can do this autonomously.
  • Prioritisation – you work at speed, are resilient and, due to the nature of events, can be available outside normal working hours when required.
  • Organisation – you take a common sense approach to your work and can manage multiple workstreams and have incredible attention to detail.
  • Communication skills – you manage internal and external relationships effectively and ensure the correct support for each event is in place.
  • Relationship management – your interpersonal skills are second to none and you work flexibly and proactively with others to get work done.

The role is hybrid working.
