Time Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Engineering Director paying between GBP75000– GBP80000 depending on experience to lead a multi–site engineering operation in the South of Wales.

Engineering Director Job Role:

The Engineering Director will lead and manage the smooth running of the Engineering department across our clients Operating company. You will be responsible for Maximising productivity and delivery, whilst focusing on providing strong leadership and development to a multi–skilled workforce, applying sound engineering principles to maintain safety, vehicle presentation and quality across the operational fleet.

The Role will work alongside the other members of our clients Operating Company leadership team in driving high levels of health and safety standards, operational growth, profitability, people development and consistent quality of service to our client's customers.

Engineering Director Job Role:

Engineering Director Key Features:

?? Responsible for supporting the delivery of operational excellence across our client's Operating Company by ensuring the cost–effective servicing, maintenance, repair, presentation and availability of Company vehicles, premises, plant and equipment in accordance with legal, company & TFL requirements

?? Monitor and manage the delivery of KPIs (both those of our client and TFL) for engineering and technical performance to ensure that these support the delivery of the overall business plan

?? Lead the Engineering teams to consistently deliver a safe, reliable, and efficient service

?? Manage staffing levels and other operational costs within budget and ensure there is a people plan in relation to learning, development, succession and attracting new talent

?? Responsible for assisting with the preparation and update of engineering budgets and forecasts, monitoring performance against budget, and to investigate, recommend and implement proposals to improve the cost–effective operation of vehicles and premises

?? Recommend appropriate initiatives to assist with retention and gaining of route tenders. Provide expertise on vehicles technology developments and possibilities, alternative fuel strategies and the options presented by different technologies and vehicles manufacturers

?? Implement engineering developments as directed by our client's Group Engineering Director

?? Ensure New Vehicle deliveries keep up with the evolving requirements of Bus Safety Standard

?? Happy to travel and monitor across different depots in (Aberdare, Blackwood, Brynmawr, Caerphilly, Cwmbran, Merthyr and Porth)

?? Responsible for the procurement of parts and services, observing Company contracts where applicable

?? Accountable for ensuring there is an exemplary safety culture and performance across our client's Operating Company, ensuring that risk assessments are undertaken and risks actioned and monitored

Engineering Director skills & Experience:

?? Experience in managing a large engineering operation and identifying and managing improvements in performance, preferably in the context of a demanding client and challenging operating conditions

?? Strong leadership, mentoring and coaching skills

?? A Team builder and driver of high–performance teams

?? Technical expertise in engineering processes

?? Experience in budgetary management

?? Experience in developing and monitoring performance against KPIs

?? A Passion for safety and evidence of having delivered a high perming safety culture

?? Capacity to manage and communicate between multi–site operations

?? Strong Customer Service Focus

?? Straight–forward communicator with the ability to promote the customer–facing business

?? Integrity and drive

?? Engineering qualification

?? Experience dealing with PCV, HGV or LGV vehicles

Salary & Benefits Package

?? GBP75,000 – GBP80,000 depending on experience
