AD Energy have an exciting new opportunity for a Group Head of Health and Safety and Compliance.
Our client are one of the leaders within the Anaerobic Digestion industry with plants across Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire and Yorkshire. The role can be based at any of those locations for applicants who may be interested.
The purpose of the Group Head of Health and Safety and Compliance role:
To lead the Health, Safety and Environmental compliance aspects of all sites applying understanding of the legislation to manage risks in a pragmatic way. Ensure compliance of all associated legal, regulatory and business standards and requirements, and as such act as a "hub" to all sites for guidance, support and assistance. Manage the team of H&S and compliance employees
The Group Head of Health and Safety and Compliance will be responsible for the following:
* Overall responsibility for the strategy of compliance, environmental, H&S and making sure employees are aware of the importance. Imbed and continually improve a culture of safe working.
* By leading the team and ensuring all operations and projects are carried out in accordance with UK law, regulations and environmental standards
* Project manage accreditation and related processes/systems (e.g. PAS110, ISCC).
* Strategy, and policy creation, implementation of associated processes and highly effective stakeholder management within Health & Safety and environmental
* Support all HSE activities, identifying any shortfalls and implementing new policies and procedures to improve safety and environmental standards
* Perform schedules and ad hoc audits and inspections as per continuous improvement strategies
* Assist in the completion and submission of all Periodic Environment Agency reports e.g. waste returns, PIEDC, OPRA, emission survey plus any Schedule 6 notifications.
* Collate information of relevant KPI's and report to the management board along with actions and remedy solutions which align with the overall business strategy
* Play a proactive role within the management team to reach business objectives
* Adhere to the Site Health & Safety policy along with all other policies in all work activities
Group Head of Health and Safety and Compliance qualifications and education required:
Math 'A' level or Equivalent
English 'A' level or Equivalent
IOSH, NEBOSH diploma or certificate
Relevant Environmental qualifications
At least intermediate IT skills in all Microsoft programmes
Experience and understanding of ISO standards
Experience of management of overall H&S and environmental strategy implementation
Experience within the waste industry.
Management of team
AD industry experience
Motivated Self – Starter with excellent communication skills
Positive, dynamic and professional
Ability to create buy in from stakeholders
