Rolls–Royce SMR is a start–up joint special purpose vehicle (SPV) business, specifically created to design, construct and deliver a new fleet of Small Modular Reactors power plants that will be a critical and strategic player in the race to Net Zero carbon emissions globally.

Morson have been tasked with engaging a Lead Business Analyst to help support the definition and realisation of the strategic roadmap for the IT Services that this function will deliver over the lifecycle of the SMR programme. Over the coming years, this could be an internal user base of 3000 and external up to 40,000.

This post is a senior staff role within SMR IT Function, with the potential to undertake Team Leader activities overseeing the activities and focus of Business Analysts either from within the team or from the supply chain.

In addition, the role will lead Business analysis activity in the specification, development and delivery of IT Solutions for Rolls–Royce SMR, ensuring design of requirements using the approved SMR governance method.

The role deputises as chair for the following governance boards:

Programme Design Authority – Responsible for programmatic control of the delivery, including alignment with the CTO as well as the wider workstream design authorities.
Change Board and associated delivery governance challenges
Key Responsibilities:

Business Analysis: Investigate, analyse, visualise, articulate and solve complex problems and concepts and make disciplined decisions based on available information.
Requirements definition and management: Identify, define and manage the objectives of the business and users. Specify requirements from a business and user perspective and facilitate the prioritisation of requirements to enable agreed changes to be implemented effectively.
Stakeholder relationship management: Identify and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation and across the supply chain. Communicate with stakeholders clearly and regularly, clarifying mutual needs and commitments and consideration of impacts, whilst focusing on user needs.
Business improvement processes: Identify and explore opportunities for service and business improvement, focusing on benefits. Drive the analysis, identification, prioritisation and implementation of improvements and efficiencies, thereby ensuring that the organisation derives maximum value from outcomes.
