Divisional Finance Director

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Divisional Finance Director. You will has overall responsibility for the financial and commercial activities of your division, including leading the financial aspects of the growth agenda, delivery of financial plans and oversight of commercial risk.

You will support the MD of the business unit to shape the long–term strategy and development of the business by providing the right level of challenge, analysis and thought leadership.

Specifically you will provide leadership on finance and commercial activities undertaken across the business unit, to inspire, coach and support the functions within the business unit to promote continuous improvement and an enhanced cost management culture throughout.

You will be the "outward facing" ambassador for the business unit team on all areas of financial and commercial matters. In particular, leading the evaluation and presentation of risk and reward for new business, commercial innovation, pricing and risk mitigation activities.

Through your team and directly you will ensure a full range of trusted business partner support to the MD and other key internal stakeholders by building excellent working relationships, providing high quality financial information and providing robust challenge and analysis of all commercial activities.

You will ensure compliance across the business unit with Group financial and commercial policies and standards, and be the custodian of statutory and regulatory financial requirements, ensuring the appropriate level of awareness in all areas of the business unit.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will be a Qualified accountant with excellent judgement and decision–making skills.

You will be self–aware and highly resilient, capable of challenging and being challenged and have exceptional leadership qualities with evidence of building and maintaining strong relationships and influencing key stakeholders

You will be an articulate, relationship builder with the ability to influence at all levels.
