We are looking for an experienced Head of Supply chain to drive process improvements in the end–to–end supply chain from supplier management to inventory management at our Plymouth manufacturing site. We seek strategic ability in supply chain management, line management of a dedicated and hard–working team and the proven ability to work with complexity in cross functional teams.
Successful candidate must have the following attributes:
* Previous experience as Head of supply chain or equivalent
* Demonstrate experience of leadership
* Experience in ERP software
* Experience in SAP would be advantageous
* Commercial awareness
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
* Lead and oversee all supply chain activities across the Plymouth site
* Produce regular performance reports based on KPI analysis across all areas of the supply chain
* Develop the strategy and business plan for supply chain management
* Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Create strong working relationships will all suppliers and act as an escalation for unresolved internal issues that may impact the business.
* Create robust Supplier SLA's and manage overall compliance through monitoring on internal KPI's.
* Conduct strategic supplier meetings to review performance and risks & opportunities
* Manage forecasting, demand and supply planning
* Develop the skills and capability for the Supply Chain practices, business sector knowledge and analytical working across the team
* Build and effectively manage partnerships within our supply chain network
* Lead site procurement processes including the development and implementation of plans that reduce costs, increase accuracy of purchases, and resolve issues with suppliers and accounts payable
* Review current supply chains assessing their efficiencies and whether they support business strategies adapted to new or changing market conditions or new business opportunities
* Maintain excellent customer service levels alongside optimising stock levels and ensuring engaged productive supplier partnerships.
* Create and have ownership of the company stock holding policy
* Ensure that key activities in the department are documented.
* Document and maintain clear and comprehensive processes and procedures for all purchasing, supplier, and planning activities
* Evaluate, select, and optimise information technology solutions to improve efficiency and reduce waste for purchasing, supplier, and planning activities
* Lead, co–ordinate and participate in departmental and cross functional projects as required
* To commit to the continued development, sustainment and improvement of the organisations Quality Management System
* Lead, motivate and develop direct reports in line with organisational strategy
* Grow the department and future proof in line with the business growth plans
* To be an active member of the Senior Leadership Team
Formal Requirements
Commercial degree with technical knowledge or a technical degree with commercial knowledge or an industrial engineer or a comparable qualification – highly desirable
Significant experience at a senior level within purchasing
Entrepreneurial leadership personality
Several years of leadership experience required
Business–fluent English skills
High management competence and customer orientation
Strong communication skills, willingness to change, and lateral thinking ability
