The successful individual must have at least 3–5 years' experience and success in a sales environment within the construction, M&E, building services, FM, energy or related sectors.

Our client specialises in the decarbonisation of heat with turnkey design and delivery energy efficiency upgrade projects, adding value to its clients in a number of ways from high quality project delivery, provision of funding solutions and technical consultancy services. Additionally, our client is a market leader in the UK housing sector for communal and district heating and has an extensive portfolio of clients including local authorities, housing associations and county or city councils.

The business has a strong can–do ethos with a passion for making things happen. Our client has experienced a period of significant growth in its client base and is seeking a Business Development Manager in the Midlands to drive growth.

Due to their dedication to continued profitable, ambitious, and long–term growth across the UK, our client now wishes to appoint a Sales & Business Development Manager to take total responsibility for the development of new business opportunities and sales of the company' products and services across the Midlands region.

The Role

* Sales, account management and networking in the public sector

* Develop an expanded network of repeat clients

* Help to develop proposals for new projects

* Help to develop funding proposals in conjunction with internals team

* Assist in production of quality tender responses and returns

* Plan, contribute and manage lead generation activities

* Develop and attend promotional events if necessary

* Act as initial point of contact for all client queries

* Manage a pipeline of allocated and developed clients, and provide regular updates on any changes, opportunities, or risks to the Directors

* Support delivery and finance teams in the allocation of project PO's from clients, including invoicing and cash collection etc

The Person

* Possess at least 3–5 years' experience and success in a sales environment within the construction, M&E, building services, FM, energy or related sectors

* Confidence, tenacity and drive

* Ability to communicate at all levels

* Ability to communicate complex proposals simply

* High level of literacy and ability to help produce project proposals aligned to client requirements

* Bid writing or tender input experience id highly desirable

* Good commercial acumen

* Ability to gain confidence of clients and create strong working relationships with internal teams

* Possess a full UK driving licence and willing to travel locally to sites or client meetings etc
