Head of Strategic Specification

The Role:

This is a newly created role within ACS who are a market leading provider of structural building components. You will have a unique opportunity to help determine and implement a specification strategy for our current award–winning product range. Your appointment will coincide with the development of a truly revolutionary new product to be brought to market in 2022 that will cement ACS's position as a true innovator and market leader. Through collaboration with other departments within ACS you will provide a platform that enables Architects and strategic clients the opportunity to specify ACS products through various channels such as NBS/Bimstore. A BIM library of components is to be developed and this can be further enhanced with support from group resources.

You will be required to engage in dialogue with the leading regulatory bodies, offer constructive advice to steering committees, and be aware of the latest upcoming changes in building regulations and the responsibility and expectations that such changes place on leading manufacturing companies such as ACS. An ability to work using your own initiative is essential and you should demonstrate a track record of developing strategies to meet overall company objectives. An excellent communicator you must be able to clearly articulate the benefits of the ACS product range, whilst developing relationships with core strategic customers that support ACS's brand value and reputation to achieve the company core objectives.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

* Solid understanding of the upcoming changes in building regulations and current government strategy, such as climate targets and other upcoming challenges facing the construction industry.

* Regular communication and attendance of meetings with key industry organisations to drive higher standards of product development and testing to exceed industry codes of practice.

* Develop and implement a digital platform to Identify, track and secure specifications with key architectural practices within the UK.

* Provide technical expertise and advice to architects in order to develop a close, long–term relationship that ensures the continued specification of ACS solutions.

* Target key architectural practices whilst working with senior decision makers to highlight and help eliminate risk to individuals, clients and project delivery times when specifying product solutions.

* Provide technical expertise and advice to new and existing clients in order to develop a close, long–term relationship that ensures the continued specification of ACS.

* Produce application & system led solutions, to architects and engineers to ensure ACS products and systems are used correctly within their specific requirements.

* Monitoring of on–site construction in conjunction with the contractor to provide advice, solutions & specification compliance.

Knowledge & Experience:

* Key Product Knowledge

* Ideally to University Degree level in a relevant field or equivalent

* PC literate

* Business Appreciation / Market Awareness

* Knowledge of CI (continuous integration)

* Committed to achieving the identified objectives

* Good communication and interpersonal skills

* Self–motivated with the ability to manage own workload
