Associate Director of Fire Engineering
London
Up to GBP80,000
Our client is a very prestigious international multidisciplinary consultancy that is looking for a new Associate Director of Fire Engineering to lead their London team. This individual will be responsible for Fire Engineering operations across the entire business in the UK. You will be used to leading teams of engineers and delivering major projects on a national and international scale. You will have to have experience in client liaison/management and an interest in the growth of the team. You will be fully comfortable mentoring junior and intermediate members of staff to ensure they meet the correct quality standards. You will be responsible for the divisions P&L and financial deliverables of the fire engineering group.
You will have come from a background where you have produced detailed fire strategy reports. Escape analysis (including assessment of travel distances, escape routes and exit widths/capacities; RSET calculations; development of emergency evacuation plans).
Good Knowledge British fire safety legislation and standards applied to buildings, as well as knowledge of changes to the Building Regulations and upcoming safety bills such as the New Fire Safety Bill and Building Safety Bill.
You will be responsible for reviewing designs of the team
Lead design team meetings
Site inspections with initial supervision.
Director of Fire Engineering Requirements:
Degree qualified in fire engineering or relevant field
Chartered or working towards
Extensive experience when it comes to the design of fire systems
Excellent technical knowledge in fire/safety engineering
Good software knowledge
Worked in a variety of sectors on major projects
Ability to deliver projects on time and within budget to the client's standards
MFireE or IFE Level 5 Diploma in Fire Engineering Design
Minimum experience of 10 years
