Optoelectronic Systems Engineer – Southampton – LM1099
Salary / benefits: Dependent upon experience
Job Term: Permanent / Full Time
Job Outline:
My client who is a leading developer of optical/optoelectronic devices, is now looking for an Optical Systems Engineer to join their facility and cleanroom activities in Southampton.
The successful candidate will work in my clients Product Development Team, working primarily in an optics/photonics laboratory environment developing and delivering optical components, modules and systems for both standard products and bespoke applications.
In addition to the development duties, the role holder will be involved in product delivery activities to meet customer orders.
The role holder should have attention to detail, enjoy following processes and demonstrate initiative to seek workflow efficiencies. Some general administration will be required as part of the role.
In addition to developing product, you will also develop and document production procedures, as well as training production staff on procedures.
This will be an evolving role suitable to someone who enjoys an engineering challenge.
Experience:
It is expected that you will have a degree or higher in Physics, Photonics, Optoelectronics or similar, along with industry experience in developing optical products.
Experience of products such as lasers, laser diodes, fibreoptic light sources, acousto–optic Modulators or similar would also be an advantage.
Additional Information:
Candidates MUST be eligible to work and live in the UK, without requiring sponsorship. Copies of Visa and Passport will be requested for verification.
