A commercially focused position which will form part of the SMT, the successful candidate will partner closely with the leadership team to drive strategy and add value whilst remaining hands–on in a diverse and exciting, progressive role.
Your new role as Financial Controller:
As Financial Controller you will take the lead in a hands–on, diverse role. Reporting directly to the group FD, and as No.1 in finance you will manage a small finance team and provide development and direction to your department. As a partner and trusted advisor, you shall support the leadership team and be part of the decision making process, driving change and strategy across your department. Partnering across the organisation you will look to develop the reporting and financial data available. Responsible for the month–end production of management accounts you shall manage the budget and forecasting process and develop analysis to support the wider organisation. With further responsibility for the year end accounting and first point of call for audit, you shall enhance the process and procedure whilst providing support to a growing business, aligning the duties across finance to ensure detail and timely production of day–to day processing as well as month and year end accounts.
Main role duties:
•Timely production of monthly management accounts, reconciliations & management of the invoice processing
•Direction and implementation of financial strategies to align with new and existing strategy across group and the business unit
•Creating and review of budget & forecasting
•Staff supervision and ongoing development of process and procedures
•Completion of statement reconciliations for all third parties and external insurers
•Production of statutory accounts & tax returns
•Cash flow management
•Production and management of the monthly payroll through provision of information & liaison with eternal payroll provider
•Production and continued development of daily, weekly & monthly MI to the SMT
•Regular liaison with stakeholders on commercial matters
•Ad hoc project management
Experience & Qualifications Required to apply:
You shall be a confident and experiences Financial Controller with experience in a regulated environment in the insurance/financial services sector. With a hands–on approach and able to demonstrate solid technical skills across both management and statutory accounting, you shall be able to further demonstrate areas where you have added value in a lead role. With a proven track record of enhancing process and procedure you shall also have staff management/supervision experience. Formally qualified in ACA/ACCA/CIMA you shall be sound in your analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise and analyse data with accuracy. With proficient Excel skills you shall also be able to communicate numbers effectively and have the ability to drive change and new initiatives.
