Senior People Business Partner: Fixed Term Contract – London

A fantastic opportunity to join Murphy Group within our Water and Major Projects divisions for a fixed term contract of 8 Months from September 2022 as a Senior People Business Partner. The successful candidate will challenge and drive performance across Water and Major Projects through exemplary people & organisational practices. Drive and facilitate delivery of the UK and business area people plans ins support of the Murphy at 75 strategy. Major focus on organisation effectiveness, talent management & building capabilities. Working in partnership and provide business partnering with the Senior Leadership Teams of Water and each of our Major Projects.

What you will be doing
* Partner with the M3 ( Water) and all Major Projects to fully understand their key business performance issues, objectives and drivers, and associated people requirements for both the current and future business challenges.
* Responsible for the planning, design and evaluation of people related initiatives that support the immediate and future organisational strategic goals and being flexible enough to cope with changes in the organisation as and when they occur.
* Working closely with Managing Director's and Project Directors to increase the capability within their teams – consulting with the senior leadership and Learning and Organisational Development to identify succession gaps within the business unit and address these to support the delivery of long term business objectives
* Collaboratively work with the other People BP's and other people functional areas to develop innovative, timely and cost–effective best practice solutions that can be implemented across the function as a whole. This should include People Policies, recruitment and selection practices, retention approaches, performance management, absence management etc.
* Work closely with all our Joint Ventures to ensure key Murphy practices are still being followed and implemented. Ensuring that the Joint Ventures do not become too isolated from the Murphy business. This will involve regular meetings with other company HR team members and managing our internal HR representatives on Major Projects.
* Challenge & support leaders across functions to align behaviours/attitude to the Murphy at 75 strategy
* Be involved in Major Project Bid work and become a proactive member of bid teams.
* Manage and work with People Business Advisors in order to enable a knowledgeable and swift response to all complex ER issues Inc. TUPE, Acquisitions, Redundancy and Restructure Programmes
* Take the lead in the TUPE transfer of up to 160 people out of the Agility contract. This may also include the TUPE in of employees if parts of the contract are won. Where appropriate confidently and professionally challenge other HR professionals from multiple other companies with the TUPE legalities and process.
* Performance management – Champion high–performance culture across Group functions. Coach, influence, up–skill and encourage senior leaders to provide clear direction, and line managers to provide continuous goal clarity, feedback, and development
* Management of the people aspect of restructures, ensuring redeployment and redundancy are run according to policy and best practice and completed within timescales, budget and legislation. Provide advice to Directors as appropriate.
* Run an effective resource plan across both M3 and Major Projects to proactively deal with recruitment and redundancy requirements.
* Regular visits to sites across both M3 and Major Projects. Carry out Quality and SHES Senior Manager tours on a monthly basis.
* Lead and drive forward the increase in technical training compliance across both M3 and Major Projects. Charing monthly calls with resource ops and SHES to ensure actions are on track and agreeing next monthly actions.

Who we are looking for
* Significant HR management experience with a proven track record in developing and implementing innovative people management solutions at an operational, tactical, and strategic level
* Strong change leadership experience. Has provided frameworks, influence, and challenge to senior teams to identify and drive through organisation change strategies in a variety of scenarios. Has developed and delivered true strategic OD that's created business change
* Established experience of coaching and developing managers and Directors
* Proven experience and comprehensive track record of managing employee relations cases, including TUPE, Acquisitions, Restructuring & Redundancy
* First–hand exposure of HR in a commercially oriented business within the construction/civil–engineering sector
* TUPE experience
* Experience working with Joint ventures
