My client is a leader within the business technology centre and is a leading provider of business management software to UK, Ireland and Asia Pacific small and mid-market organisations. As a result of both domestic and international growth, my client is now seeking an experienced commercial contracts lawyer with excellent skills in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts to join their UK-based legal team in order to help them further grow and develop.
The successful candidate will provide support to my client's sales team which spans across a total of 10 divisions and will manage a significant number of commercial deals being responsible for ensuring all relevant policies are followed. A key part of this role will involve regular reviewing, drafting and negotiation of partnership agreements, licence distribution agreements and confidentiality agreements, in addition or providing clear and accurate advice on those agreements to managers as well as other stakeholders across the business.
Although this role can be performed mostly remotely, there will be the occasional requirement for ad-hoc travel to my client's Sheffield office.
Ideally, candidates should have between 3-4 years of commercial contracts experience. This experience can consist of both private practice and in-house appointments. Should a candidate have considerable non-qualified experience prior to qualification (e., paralegal experience), my client may be prepared to consider candidates with a lower level of PQE.
Along with the expected skills in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, the successful candidate with need to have exceptional skills in problem-solving and be someone who can exercise self-awareness and judgment. This would be a great role for a proactive lawyer who enjoys thinking creatively to help find solutions. You will also need to be a confident communicator and will not be phased in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders at various levels.
Salary will be bespoke depending on experience and there are some key unique benefits associated with working for my client which can be discussed further on request.
For further information about this role, please contact Samuel Higgins at Hays Legal.
