We are working exclusively with a well renowned North East based organisation who are continuing to develop their market share and reputation with ambitious growth plans.

To support this continued success and growth, the organisation is looking to appoint an experienced senior HR practitioner who will lead in the development, management and maintenance of the HR people agenda.

Reporting into the Executive leadership team, the role will have the support of a small HR team and will have full accountability for HR across the whole organisation.

Role accountabilities:

  • Develop strong relationships with the executive and operational leadership teams to ensure a cohesive, consistent and value–added HR service is achieved in line with business objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders making key decisions on people related initiatives and activity.
  • Visibly support the leadership team and their agenda, acting as a role model to promote team work and organisational effectiveness.
  • Support the Executive leadership team with people related projects.
  • Be key in developing a robust recruitment and retention strategy which will allow the organisation to effectively recruit and retain talent in line with business strategy.
  • Lead on maintaining high employee engagement, developing new strategies to improve on this.
  • Review and develop the Reward and recognition offering, ensuring the organisation can maintain being an employer of choice both internally and externally.
  • Deliver highly effective systems for recruitment; leadership development; performance management and key tools of business performance improvement.
  • Develop strategies to support the business through change management and integration initiatives.
  • Oversee and develop effective employee communications processes which match the culture of the organisation.
  • Actively promote career development and learning within the organisation through the development and implementation of suitable programmes.
  • Oversee the provision of Learning for the organisation.
  • Lead on Diversity and Inclusion strategy for the business ensuring equality of opportunity.
  • Drive a positive and proactive culture across a diverse employee group.
  • Provide senior management with advice and guidance on HR related issues and initiatives in line with current legislation.
  • Oversee Employee relations activity developing strong working relations with key stakeholders to ensure positive conclusion.
  • Coach and manage a team of HR practitioners to deliver a high quality and value–added HR service to the business.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a demonstrable track record of operating at both an operational and strategic Head of HR level.
  • Be a credible HR leader and be able to influence across all stakeholder levels.
  • Be comfortable in developing team members and empowering staff.
  • Have outstanding communication skills.
  • Be able to thrive in a diverse and fast paced environment.
  • Be professionally qualified to CIPD level or equivalent.
