HR Business Partner12–month FTC London Office Base with Hybrid WorkingGBP60,000 CircaMaPS (Money and Pensions Service) are undergoing a transformation of our advice, guidance and partnering services. This includes implementing a new way of working to enable HR Business Partners to focus on senior level guidance, complex queries, casework and MaPS wide projects.The purpose of this role is to drive up operational performance by ensuring Directors proactively consider the people implications of their business plans and that the senior management team in the People, Culture and Skills Function consider the business implications of HR policy and practice. You will play a key role in leadership, facilitating change and enhancing the employee experience to help us build an organisation in which everyone can be at their best. Some of the key accountabilities of the HR Business Partner;
  • Build trusted relationships with directors and their senior teams including developing a thorough understanding of the wider organisational context, the relevant external environment, their business areas and priorities, and the consequent people implications.
  • Challenge directorate thinking and influence decisions which support the achievement of the company goals.
  • Co–create and drive a directorate 'people plan' with the business which supports the achievement of the following:
    • Provide expert advice, strategic governance and professional guidance to deliver exceptional recruitment campaigns and attract top talent to work in MaPS
    • Talent management/succession planning to drive mobility, professional growth, and support retention
    • Performance management/reward management to drive a high–performance culture
    • Responds to directorate people survey results to build engagement and employee advocacy
    • A tailored learning and development plan which builds people capability and directorate skills gaps in line with organisational and directorate needs
    • Considers the diversity and inclusion aspirations of the organisation
    • Enhances the wellbeing of colleagues and supports smarter working principles
  • Ensure the provision of an expert employee relations advisory service to senior leaders, including strategic and specialist advice that provides business–focussed solutions.
  • Continually develop knowledge and skills (both professionally and corporately), including market/sector knowledge, economic trends, HR best practice, and prevailing employment legislation
It is essential for the Senior HR Business Partner to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
  • Substantial experience of business partnering; a combination of strategic and operational service delivery.
  • A proven track record of using HR as a tool for culture change.
  • Significant experience of managing and influencing senior stakeholders on HR/people matters, challenging and changing senior level thinking and actions thus being a trusted advisor.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching and line/task managing colleagues
  • Clear, concise interpersonal skills using a range of media e.g. engaging presentations, facilitating group sessions, the ability to write effective business papers and wider people communications.
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgement, anticipate issues and use initiative to prioritise as well as create innovative solutions.
  • CIPD accredited (or studying towards CIPD accreditation) is highly advantageous although not essential.
