Job description:

We are looking to recruit a Head of Systems Development based in Stevenage – home working too.

As the Head of Systems Development, you will provide a high–level design and establish the basic structure of systems in use to ensure it is consistent and operationally defined.

As the Head of Systems Development your duties and responsibilities will be:

?? Direct software applications acquisition, software development and testing activities

?? Provide the framework and work with the development outsourcer (Zensar) to produce software development processes and standards and ensure that they are followed

?? Provide the framework and work with the software testing outsourcer (Sopra Steria) to produce software testing processes and standards and ensure that they are followed

?? Maintain regular communication between the Business Change Manager, Business Analysts and Zensar to understand their requirements and ensure that the high–level design remains fit for purpose

?? Review the systems development service being delivered to the group & working with Zensar to implement any proposed changes

?? Review the testing service being delivered to us & working with Sopra Steria to implement any proposed changes

Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

?? Relevant previous experience in a similar role

?? Extensive knowledge of IT systems and a high degree of technical skill

?? Experience of supporting and developing systems in an enterprise environment

?? Software development and system integration experience

?? Previous use of Force architecture, Apex, Visual Force, MS .Net, MS SQL Server, Web technologies, APIs and integration tools

?? Ability to apply an innovative approach to development and problem solving across the range of platforms, software and systems

?? Experience in supplier/relationship management and dispute resolution

?? Knowledge of Prince 2 project management methodology

?? Good financial and budgeting experience

?? Degree or equivalent professional qualification desirable

Manage outsourced IT partners – both testing and software development

Improve in play software/system/application projects

Salesforce(Force)/Java expereince very useful

API experience a must

Be able to help introduce new Power Apps
