Due to their rapid and continued growth, this cutting edge Fintech organisation has a brand new, exciting opportunity for a Chief Marketing Officer, to lead a global team and define the marketing and communications strategy in line with the business' objectives.

Working for one of the most promising Fintech start–ups of the last few years, you will be a creative, data driven and brilliant senior marketer with experience of leading global teams.

This is a fully remote role and the CMO will ideally be based in Barcelona, Spain, however can also be based in France, the UK or anywhere else in Europe or Africa.

The CMO will define the marketing, communication and advertising strategy by leading a global team based on a strategy, budget and return on investment of the target performance.

The CMO will be expected to achieve the following results:

  • A marketing strategy based on data and KPIs
  • A recruited and organised marketing team
  • A dynamic, innovative and efficient marketing department
  • Budgeted marketing actions with regular reporting on ROI and recommendations

Key Responsibilities

  • Define the marketing strategy in accordance with the market and the analysis of data concerning users (costs, conversion, retention, LTV and ROI).
  • Analyse the needs of platform users and define personas.
  • Analyse data continuously to improve the performance of marketing actions and prioritise opportunities with the most positive impact on brand image.
  • Create customer acquisition and retention strategies (local event, marketing performance, email marketing, promotions, partnerships, etc.).
  • Coordinate the proper execution of marketing campaigns by closely managing each local marketing team, to ensure smooth running and within budgets.
  • Quantify the impact of marketing efforts put in place for the acquisition of new customers, customer engagement and retention while solidifying the existing database.
  • Build and maintain structured internal communication to ensure that ideas and recommendations regarding user acquisition, engagement and customer retention are part of future strategic initiatives and contribute to the brand's evolution.
  • Manage the entire global and national marketing team of the countries (30 people in 2022)
  • Serve the needs of Country Managers and the Management Committee and ensure detailed and measurable reporting.

Person Profile

  • Master or MBA level (highly recommended but not mandatory)
  • Fluent French and English speaker is essential
  • Understanding of African consumers is beneficial
  • Minimum of 2 years in a senior marketing management position
  • Experience in recruiting and leading international teams
  • Strong experience in growth marketing and marketing innovation
  • Excellent command of data analysis
  • Excellent experience in Gsheets (analytical tables, pivot tables etc)
  • Strong digital marketing experience including use of Facebook Ads & Google Ads
  • Desire to travel internationally
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
