A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Business Analyst ideally with previous Insurance experience to join a major Life Insurance organisation and support the definition and delivery of the various projects under the wider programme of work.

My client is undertaking a large scale back–office transformation programme which will aim to deliver an ambitious but achievable future state vision across all the back–office functions globally. It has been created to address the diverse portfolio of transformation projects planned and underway across the global back–office.

This is an opportunity to join this new programme team during an exciting period of change.

As the Senior Business Analyst, you will fill a critical role within the organisation tasked with collecting, understanding, documenting, and representing business requirements for each of the projects under this programme. The role will ultimately be responsible for ensuring business requirements are clearly documented and communicated and following these through to project completion including testing and sign–off.

Key responsibilities:

• Identify, understand, develop, and validate business needs from a user perspective, including local Business Unit specific needs and global functional needs

• Producing and managing both functional and non–functional requirements and acceptance criteria
• Writing accurate, visionary, and relevant user stories and requirements
• Define clear, accurate acceptance criteria to be used by developers, testers, and business owners to ensure business need are captured and met

• Endorse business requirements with an emphasis on collaboration, delivery, and a focus on the strategic goals of the project and the business
• To review and identify opportunities to optimise current business capabilities and processes and drive efficiencies
• Being technology agnostic when matching business requirements with proposed technology solutions
• Take a lead role in the project throughout the full project lifecycle from definition of business needs through to solution fulfilling the defined requirements
• Coordinate design, implementation and testing activities to ensure solutions meet expectations and business requirements

Required skills/ experience:

• Experience in the market as a Business, or Senior Business Analyst

• Demonstrable experience in effective communication with internal stakeholders in the business, understanding and translating their needs to business requirements
• Skills in analysing and documenting business user requirements to create functional requirements
• Skilled at performing business process, gap, capability assessment, and requirements traceability analysis
• Ability to identify opportunities for process optimisation and/or standardisation
• Ability to challenge stakeholders in the business at all levels and the technology / project team to ensure requirements are understood and solutions are appropriately designed to meet business needs
• Demonstrates an appropriate level of technical skills for the role and an appreciation of current issues affecting their profession and the life reinsurance industry
• Takes responsibility for the quality, completeness, and accuracy of own work and that of the team under them
• Able to prioritise competing requests and deadlines
• Provides accurate and timely updates on status of work and escalates issues appropriately
