Project Manager Shropshire 3 months temporary GBP350 – GBP400 per day (Umbrella company basis)

Main Purpose
Accountable for the successful delivery of projects across a programme of waste and clean water Projects to ensure works are delivered to programme, budget and required quality. Primarily focussed on the managements of scope, design, schedule, finance, quality, resources, threats and issues. Responsible for the formation of an organisation to meet the delivery needs of projects. Ensure that the Contract performs to Turnover & Contribution Targets. Creating close working local relationships with clients & stakeholders, managing their expectations, delivering high, professional standards and championing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
Schedule – Prepares and documents a schedule of major phases, milestones and review points for the project, sufficient to inform the direction of work and the monitoring of progress. Monitors progress and refines the schedule as appropriate, implementing the change control process.

Finance – Defines financial reporting requirements and schedules for milestones and reviews for the related projects. Uses financial information from the related projects to prepare and deliver overall financial progress reports. Ensures that all financial transactions are complete before closure of the project, and that final reports on financial performance are prepared for relevant stakeholders. Responsible for P&L– ensuring that the Contract performs to actual cost v forecast cost using all commercial reports developed. Monitor and review all delivery and financial performance, and take corrective actions to address abnormalities, including updating commercial and finance teams.

Risks & Issues – Identifies risks and issues associated with a project, on an initial and ongoing basis. Documents the risks and responses within a risk management plan using qualitative and quantitative methods. Assesses documents and plans responses to issues. Implements responses to the issues, and addresses any implications for the future, implementing the change control process where relevant. Ensures that all open risks are accepted, avoided or transferred when projects close.

Quality – Manages the process of quality assurance for a project, to confirm the consistent application of the procedures and standards defined in the quality management plan. Captures lessons learned during a project to contribute to continual improvement. Actions outcomes from the quality management process, implementing the change control process where relevant.

Resources – Determines the resource demands for each of the related projects at each of their respective stages. Responsibility for ensuing all teams are trained and competent to undertake any work issued and all outstanding training is kept to a minimum. Compliance of teams with all company rules, policies and procedures.

Change Control – Assesses all options relating to the proposed changes and estimates their impacts. Makes recommendations based on impact assessments about whether to approve, reject or defer changes, or to request further information.

Client – Responsible for maintaining healthy and professional relationships with clients.

Customer – Ensuring Customer is at the heart of everything undertaken.

Allocates project resources utilising resource schedule to identify the availability of internal and external resources and the dependencies between those available.
Attends Client meetings and accepts benefits and risk information updating registers/trackers as required.
Records outcomes of the risk based desk–top review and instruct updates of risk registers as required.
Prepares Project Risk and Opportunity Management Plan. If Scope is not adequately defined, leads the process to scope the works and identify additional investigations / feasibility studies.
Organises Collaborative Planning sessions and facilitates session ensuring adequate challenge is made to schedule, durations and opportunities are given the same attention as risks.
Inputs into formulation of contractual T&Cs and client reporting requirements.
Approves change control and co–ordinates commercial response if needed.
Verifies business case prior to design review submission.
Monitors construction performance undertaking regular Threats and Issues reviews.
Reviews the final account before submission to client.
Ensures that all key deliverables are issued to the Client in a timely manner.
