Here at HM Land Registry, we have an exciting opportunity available for you to join us as a Head of Information Rights. You will receive a competitive salary of GBP64,416 – GBP75,263 per annum (Croydon GBP68,660 – GBP79,614). The post is offered on a Flexible working, Full–time, Part–time or Job share basis.

We're looking for a Head of Information Rights and Data Protection Officer to provide leadership and strategic direction for the Data Protection and Knowledge and Information Rights Teams, who are responsible for ensuring that HM Land Registry (HMLR) meets its statutory responsibilities for GDPR, FOI and the Public Records Act.

As our Head of Information Rights, you will enable our organisation to maintain and enhance compliance with its statutory requirements for Data Protection and Information Rights, as well as having oversight of knowledge and information management practices and approaches that are being implemented.

Key responsibilites as our Head of Information Rights:

Leading the delivery of data protection assurance and compliance monitoring across HMLR, providing expert advice to support the CEO in delivering their data protection obligations.

Advising the Executive Board, the Audit & Risk Committee and Risk & Integrity Committee on compliance and risk in these areas

What we're looking for in our Head of Information Rights:

Practitioner level qualifications in both Data Protection and Freedom of Information

Experience in acting as statutory DPO and an associated record of leadership in the second line of defence within a similar complex organisation

Experienced in designing and embedding data protection policy across a large organisation

Strong knowledge of data protection and freedom of information legislation

Experience in building, developing and leading multi–functional teams to deliver across multiple locations

Experience in liaising with the ICO including where personal data breaches are reported

Experience in addressing corporate information issues and advocating good governance

A proven track record of leading effective change in response to audit recommendations is essential
