We are working on a retained basis to recruit a Finance Director for a £200 million multi-site manufacturing business who have operations in Birmingham and Europe. This is a superb opportunity to work closely with the Senior Management Team and to have your say on how the finance function is ran and drive how it can best support Operations to drive significant improvements.
As the Finance Director you will report directly to the Managing Director who has a strong finance background and will therefore be able to offer development and mentorship. The successful candidate will be a positive, straight-talking communicator who leads by example and is happy to roll their sleeves up and get involved in the detail when required. The ability to engage at all levels is key and you will be able to challenge the status quo.
Finance Director Responsibilities:

Finance Director Responsibilities:
- Manage, lead, and develop the Group Finance and IT functions.
- Be responsible for the strategic financial planning and mid-term forecasting
- Lead the bank relationship in the UK, and support those in Europe.
- Involved in planning and raising finance for future capital investment projects
- Oversee ERP role out across subsidiary sites and drive optimisation of recently installed ERP
- Work closely with commercial teams on product costing.
- Ensure robust challenge of all significant revenue generation or capital spending proposals, supporting colleagues to present business cases effectively and monitor returns on investment.
- Ensure Finance operates in and promotes a culture of robust financial controls with a strong focus on costs and working capital management.
- Actively support the Senior Management Team in developing and executing strategy.
- Support the Executive and Senior Management with pricing proposals and new market opportunities and contribute effectively to the sales growth strategy.
- Contribute effectively to pricing and margin maximization strategies.
- Manage KPI’s to drive profit and to control cost without impacting on business performance and contribute effectively to operational efficiency challenges.
- Ensure clarity exists with well-tuned forecasting, planning, and budgeting process business wide and lead the budgeting process, forecasts and 3- year planning process.
