Our client is a global manufacturing organization who are looking to recruit a Finance Manager to join their successful brand.
Recently the UK operations outsourced their transactional finance functions to an offshore Shared Service Centre, and initially the focus for this role will be to continue to assist the transition of accounting functions to the SSC.
As member of the European Finance Team Business Partner with the plants’ Executive Team supporting the sites achievement of financial and corporate financial objectives.
Day to day management of interaction with the SSC, ensuring compliance with contractual structure and delivery of operating procedures and defined service levels.

Day to day management of interaction with the SSC, ensuring compliance with contractual structure and delivery of operating procedures and defined service levels.
Reporting:
- Responsible for formally approving the submission of month-end close to Corporate Finance team in accordance to reporting timetables and ensuring the highest standards of accuracy.
- Preparation of routine monthly reporting schedules monitoring variances to budget, prior year and forecast.
- Ensure all required statutory submissions (VAT Returns / Payments etc.) are completed wholly, accurately, and timey.
- Providing day-to-day authorisations, payments, credit notes etc.
- Ensure accurate and timely statutory reporting. Successfully complete YE-audits.
- Financial analysis: Providing Business Partnering services to the Plant Executive teams to assure achievement of the overall plant objectives, analyzing data to initiate improvements, cost savings and continuous improvement.
- Cost Accounting, Inventory and Assets: Ensure the accurate and complete accounting and reporting of job costs, overhead, inventory, controls and policies, and physical counts.
- Work daily with Plant Operations and local AR Collections teams to relentlessly drive working capital reduction and make continuous improvements in collections and inventory management processes.
- Investment Proposals: Complete financial analysis of capital projects. Validate that the savings claimed with the project are reasonable and can be tracked/validated once the project is complete.
- Forecasting and Budget: Manage and complete the site budgeting/forecasting processes to corporate timelines. Ensure full analysis and bridging is undertaken.
- Support a culture of relentless pursuit of continuous improvement.
- Provide leadership and development of the Cost Accountants and the AR Collection clerks. Ensure that the Finance team remains true to the requirement to provide Business Partnering to the sites. Establish clear goals and objectives within the team.
- Ensure the use of existing temporary staff (FTC’s) is maximized, ensuring that processes and procedures are in place for the department to operate efficiently after their departure.
- Assure the safety of associates within the accounting function.
- Model the Corporate Values and Principles, including instilling a high performance, people-powered culture, providing high expectations and high support.
- Experience as a leader and accounting manager with a strong operational focus.
- Required education/experience: Chartered, ACA ACCA or CIMA with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in progressively more responsible positions.
