Systems Engineer – Lighting Algorithm
Interior & Exterior Electronics inc. Lighting Software and Systems
The purpose of the Lighting Algorithm team is to work alongside our partners to develop world class Lighting features for our customers.
About The Role
Our mission is to deliver a class leading E/E platform, with an extensive feature set, offering Pure, Progressive, Performance, to provide a Customer Experience that exceeds their expectations. As Lighting Algorithm Systems Engineer, you will support the Principal Engineer to ensure the Lighting System delivers the customer expectations and will perform and support the other units within R&D to deliver this mission.
You will be responsible for the Lighting Algorithm System design for upcoming and future Lighting features.
You will be responsible for producing and maintaining engineering documentation as part of the Lighting Algorithm System development process e.g. System Architecture Diagram, Logical Architecture Diagram, System Requirements.
You will work alongside our partner OEMs and lead the company Lighting Algorithm development within their Development Framework.
You will lead technical solutions with our partner OEMs for the design of the Lighting Algorithm Systems.
You will lead technical discussions with suppliers, internal cross–functional teams, and our partner OEMs in relation to the Lighting Algorithm System.
You will lead and co–ordinate design reviews, calibration, verification & validation, and certification activities throughout the development lifecycle of the Lighting Algorithm.
As the Core Group is expanding, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a cross functional team to define, design, develop and implement new Lighting Features / capabilities within the group. Your systems engineering skillset will be of great importance.
Mandatory skills
Demonstrable experience (4+ years) of delivering automotive electronics at a systems, component, or vehicle level within the Lighting Algorithm / Electronics domain.
Experience with Dynamic Lighting Feature design and development inc. delivery to customers.
Experience with automotive product development process(es).
Experience in requirements elicitation and management for owned and interfacing components and systems.
Practical experience with vehicle network architectures CAN, LIN (FlexRay and Ethernet also desirable).
Experience in leading the test and validation activities including benchmarking.
Practical experience using diagnostic software, measurement, and calibration tools.
Practical experience working in an Agile / Scrum framework to develop and deliver products.
Proactive and rigorous, with strong problem solving capability.
Desirable skills
Model Based Software Engineering development experience (MATLAB Simulink preferable).
Use of systems or modelling languages and tools (e.g. SysML, UML, Enterprise Architect, IBM Rhapsody).
Understanding of Functional Safety and safety analysis techniques.
Additional Skills
Experience with system/component delivery within an APQP, six sigma or similar framework.
Understanding of Cyber Security requirements and principles.
