Great new 12 month maternity contract for this Employer of Choice in Northampton as Group Finance Manager.

A hands on technical role with management responsibilities. The primary function within the role is the ownership of all Group Consolidation adjustments, ensuring all Regions submit monthly deliverables in accordance with the Group reporting timetable and driving Global consistency in accounting, quality of reporting and implementation of key Finance controls across the Group.

Responsibilities will be varied and include:–

Ownership of the calculations of all Group consolidation adjustments, including journals and coding, that drive the overall Group reporting (Transfer of Margins, Royalties, Transfer Pricing, Stat day etc.)

  • Ensure month–end regional deliverable are submitted as per the timetable & review all consolidated management reporting schedules prior to sending to the Group Reporting Team
  • Ensure consistency of accounting globally, and the Group Accounting Manual and Group Policies and Procedures are adhered too. All changes need to be communicated to the Senior Technical Accounting Manager
  • Organise and attend the month end review meetings and implement any process improvements
  • Ownership of the accounting for all of the Hold Co's within the Group including the parent PLC entity
  • Review and challenge Chart of Account amendments where appropriate
  • Monthly review of all Balance Sheet Reconciliations and Quarterly review of Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Assist the auditors with all Group audit requests
  • Manage the deliverables of all Group & EMEA audit requests to ensure all deliverables sent are accurate and on time
  • Support transition of auditors
  • Continuously drive improvements in Group consolidation adjustments and Regional deliverables
  • Continue to develop process notes for key operations of the business
  • Assist in the implementation of new accounting standards across the business
  • Assist in the continued development of financial aspects including process improvements and reporting suites
  • Assist in the implementation of a new reporting system and ensure all Group Accounting & Reporting deliverables have been considered
  • Continue to cross train the team to ensure both team members have the knowledge to perform all Group Accounting calculations and procedures
  • Ensure that intercompany settlements are progressed to reduce intercompany balances across the Group
  • Other ad hoc responsibilities as required through the regular course of business

Key criteria required to be successful in this role:–

  • Experience (2–3 years minimum) of working with Group consolidations including overseas subsidiaries – multi–currency & multi–site
  • Ideally ACA qualified
  • Detailed understanding of FX within a Global Company
  • Understanding of IFRS accounting policies – ability to use this knowledge to communicate globally
  • Experience of writing technical accounting papers
  • Confidence to build credibility quickly with stakeholders within and outside of the Finance function
  • Have the ability to understand the detail but also to take a big picture approach
  • Advanced excel skills and ability to use PowerPoint and Word
  • Able to work to agreed timetables and deadlines
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics desirable but not essential
