My client is is a modern utility and energy storage infrastructure specialist. They bridge the gap between development and finance in the energy storage sector, heavily involved with everything from sourcing, developing through to operating energy storage systems. They are seeking a Head of Planning & Development to lead the project development team and support project closure and execution.
The right candidate should be focussed on project delivery and execution, before handing to the delivery and construction teams.
Qualifications, skills or experience
* Wide experience in renewable energy development, financial closure and project execution in the UK from cradle to grave;
* Knowledge and understanding of the energy project development process including landowner engagement and terms, planning policy, grid connection and construction, as well as strong knowledge of the permitting process;
* Experience in negotiating EPC or OEM supply contracts as well as other procurement construction contracts is hugely beneficial;
* Excellent interpersonal skills and proven people management/development skills as the candidate will be running a small London based team;
* Experience in running project–based budgets and delivery targets;
* Educated to degree level, and/or held a similar position;
* Demonstrable experience in Project management; and
* Ability to communicate with and influence a broad range of individuals, ranging from the wider team to other project developers, landowners, project finance teams, lawyers, technical advisors, trade bodies and the investment team in house
