Our esteemed client, a global Manufacturing business at the forefront of innovative, integrated, and sustainable engineered solutions, that harness and safeguard the flow of electrical energy, are looking to recruit for a Group Tax Director to join their senior management team at offices near Leciester.

Main Purpose of the Role:
The Group Tax Director will be the guarantor of compliance with local and international tax regulations, designing and implementing the required policies, procedures, and controls for multiple sites across the globe.
The Tax Director will report directly to the Group CFO and have strong interactions with individuals at all levels of the Group, up to the CEO.
The Tax Director will also manage relationships with multiple advisors and external stakeholders, including tax authorities across multiple jurisdictions.
This role will be strategic, as opposed to a Tax Consultant role, with 60% of the position handling treasury duties, and 40% handling tax duties.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance across all jurisdictions where the Group is present (UK, CZ, NL, US but also remote sites such as Singapore or Uruguay) – an aspect of international travel may be required at times.
- Manage relationship with the Group's external tax advisors and local tax authorities (including HMRC in the UK).
- Ensure tax efficiency of UK and cross–border transactions working closely with commercial teams and specialist teams such as HR Global Mobility.
- Work with the Group Financial Controller to monitor and update the Group's Transfer Pricing policy, ensuring compliance in each jurisdiction.
- Work closely with stakeholders to determine and implement tax strategy and governance for the Group, including Senior Accounting Officer compliance.
- Lead on tax due diligence and tax integration on ad–hoc projects across the Group, including business acquisitions or divestitures
- Support the Group CFO in determining the optimal structure for the Group (particularly regarding new acquisitions) as well as cash repatriation.
- Assist the site accounting teams in their year–end processes with annual tax accounting and financial reporting.
- Currently, the role does not have direct reports, the successful candidate will work closely with and be supported by the site Finance teams.
To Be Considered:
- Proven experience in a group / senior tax role, within an SME or multi–national organisation
- ACA/ACCA/CTA, or equivalent, qualifications.
- Strong knowledge of UK direct and indirect taxes and ability to integrate the two, knowledge of Customs and Duties not essential.
- Strong knowledge of international taxes, concepts, and OECD developments.
- Previous experience of Service business and associated challenges is key; experience in a Projects business is a plus.
- Confident and high energy individual, with a desire to make a difference.
- Strong communication skills and commercial mindset.
- Excellent engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to gain the confidence of senior management as well as provide challenge.
- A strong change agent, looking to identify opportunities for improvements in all areas of the business.
- Excellent analytical skills, and strong eye for detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver results.
