Head of Engineering

Elevation Recruitment Group have been exclusively retained by a market–leading manufacturing business to recruit a Head of Engineering for one of their sites in the North–West of England.My client a GBPmulti–billion turnover manufacturing business with sites across the UK. The site in the North–West is a core strategic location for the business. It employs around 400 people and will benefit from significant investment and growth plans over the next few years. The successful candidate will be tasked with building strong working relationships across production and engineering teams, strengthening the maintenance programme and delivering improvement projects.The Head of Engineering is a key appointment for the business and one that offers real opportunity for career progression. We are seeking a talented candidate with experience at a senior level within a large–scale and fast–paced manufacturing environment.The Head of Engineering's duties will include:* To lead the site on all maintenance and engineering matters* Work closely with the other depart heads and play a vital role in the senior management team * Develop, and implement an efficient engineering strategy that able to cope with demanding time constraints* Manage the department to ensure that production can achieve the target of planned output and deliver a planned maintenance programme with consideration to optimising production and reducing downtime* Ensure that capex expenditure projects are completed to specification, on time and in budget* Manage contractors and ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to * Ensure all plant equipment is maintained and performing at a level which doesn't impair levels of customer service* Oversee all Engineering operations incl. budgets, performance improvements and cost reduction targetsElevation Recruitment Group would be keen to speak to candidates with the following skills & experience:* Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline, Masters or MBA would be highly desirable * Experience within a senior leadership role on a large site or multi–site operation* A background within a fast–paced, demanding manufacturing environments such as FMCG, Automotive, Building Products, Packaging etc. * A track record of managing multi–million pound maintenance and CAPEX budgets* A proven engineering manager with experience of managing teams of 30+* An engaging leader with a history of success in change management* Experience of working with unions on site and developing and inclusive and supporting culture This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful business.To apply for this position please send your application or call for all enquiries.Elevation Engineering & Manufacturing is a specialist recruitment consultancy dealing with senior engineering, technical and operational positions in South Yorkshire and the surrounding regions.
