Systems Engineer - 18 months contract

We are representing a multi billion dollar parcel/logistics company going through a huge transition period and are looking for technical system engineers to assist with several ongoing projects.

You will be responsible for working with project teams and automation suppliers to support the delivery of major parcel automation systems and integration activities including technical contract adjudication and systems design.

You will also collaborate with project teams, automation suppliers and Plant Engineering Managers to analyse and correct performance and functional defects on deployed to parcel automation systems

Required is the need to Provide expert skills and knowledge in parcels automation using existing systems or incorporating new technologies, delivering expert knowledge to support, diagnose and resolve technical and operational issues.

Other duties include;

Contributes to the development of systems requirements for parcels automation contract documentation
Supports the review of contract technical design documents to ensure designs are fit for purpose and meet the requirements
Supports system integration testing of a first article both in a manufacturing facility and at the first article installation
Supports integration testing of subsequent articles during the deployment phase and business as usual activities
Contributes and works closely with project teams, automation suppliers, Plant Engineering Managers and the Automation Development and Support Team to support parcels automation systems
Contributes to the development of supporting applications for integrating parcel automation systems
Provides analysis and technical support of parcels automation performance, diagnosis and troubleshooting

Qualifications;

Level 3 Apprenticeship/Degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics)
Full UK drivers license
Good knowledge on automated process and machinery
Background within automated warehousing, baggage handling, food production, robotics or manufacturingFiner Details;

The position is an 18 month contract (inside of IR35) or fixed term contract
The role is home based with nationwide travel (all expensed)
