This is an exciting opportunity to lead, develop and grow a manufacturing business supplying innovative products to a dedicated customer base in a niche market sector.
As Managing Director, reporting to the Group Chairman, you will lead the circa GBP8 million turnover business both commercially and operationally, sharing and demonstrating the company's vision and values through open, consistent and inclusive communication and direction to the 50–strong workforce.
This market sector dictates that as Managing Director you will be the commercial face of the company, leading the sales team from the front, forming close relationships with the key figures and decision makers in the customer base. This will also give you the ideal position from which to gain a clear insight into the future requirements and expectations of the market and the product innovations required to keep the company out ahead of its competitors.
You must have an impressive track record in leading businesses where selection of new products and market development are significant factors for success. You will have a natural bias towards the commercial customer interface, but your engineering understanding will hold you in good stead for all aspects of the business.
It goes without saying that you must possess excellent leadership, management and people skills, the energy and drive to make things happen and the integrity and presence to enhance the company's already impressive reputation.
The parent group company not only has ambitions to grow its existing businesses but also to expand into other products, services and sectors. As such, when recruiting at senior levels, there is always a desire to attract individuals with a true entrepreneurial spirit.
