Assistant Director of Performance & Commissioning – NHS – 3 months initially – Remote working – GBP415 a day via umbrella

You will play a key role in leading the delivery of this NHS Organisation's Performance Management Framework ensuring the HB's Annual Plan, Integrated Medium Term Plan (IMTP) and long–term change strategies are delivered.

The role will provide leadership, strategic and professional management of the performance management framework and of commissioning across the organisation and will provide expertise to support Directorates and Corporate Departments in their work on these matters.

You will work at a corporate level across the organisation with line management responsibility for the Commissioning and Performance teams. As a senior leader within the organisation, you will have considerable freedom to act and work closely with external stakeholders and partners to determine service policy and direction, deputising for the Director of Planning and Performance as and when required.

Experience Needed:
– Extensive expertise, knowledge and understanding of:
* Business planning
* Budget setting
* Commissioning processes
* Performance and change management
* People management
* Quality improvement
– Significant knowledge of performance and assurance management systems, tools and best practice
– In depth understanding of the challenges facing the health service in Wales and the impact of working in a rural setting
– Significant experience working at a senior managerial level within the NHS
– Significant experience of contracting business case development
– Significant experience of leading the development of strategies, frameworks and commissioning improvement plans with the engagement of a wide range of stakeholders
– Evidence of specialist knowledge, expertise and experience in performance management and commissioning
– Evidence of creating and sustaining positive relationships with staff and stakeholders
– Proven work record of consistently achieving high standards and delivering objectives and priorities
– Experience of implementing or working to a rigorous performance management framework
