Our client a global automotive organisation are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer Automotive (Audio)
The Role
Your contribution
Software and Electronics is a new global unit within R&D. Audio systems is part of the Experience group and this group covers multiple elements. Audio systems falls under the Infotainment and Connectivity team. Our mission is to deliver a class leading E/E platform, with an extensive feature set, offering Pure, Progressive, Performance, to provide a Customer Experience that exceeds their expectations.
Audio Systems:
Responsible for the overall delivery of Audio Systems from concept to production
Lead technical discussion with suppliers, internal cross–functional teams, and partner OEM
Support and management of our partner OEM and Tier 1 suppliers with new or modified designs, system calibration and validation.
Cross–function leadership and overall system integrator role between all company departments.
Define and meet the package targets in conjunction with vehicle integration team and CAD team.
Responsible for all audio electronic components on the Electrical BoM. Ensure that parts are structured on the BoM and strive to achieve cost, weight, and timing across the system.
Key audio systems include:
Base and Branded Audio offerings
Speakers
Microphones
AVAS
Support prototype builds, validation (component, system & vehicle) and launch
Issue management support, from problem identification through to introduction of final countermeasure using company issue management system
Provision of information, support, and training to Manufacturing and Service departments
Preparation of reports and feedback to the technical and project management teams
Who you are:
You have a strong wish to create the future of electric vehicles – it's probably fair to call you an EV nerd. You are enthusiastic, motivated, well–organized and driven. You're not afraid to try new approaches and unconventional methods, and you work well both individually and with leading teams. You have a holistic view, including vision, business, and customers.
You will have five or more years' experience in the ownership and delivery of audio systems at system or vehicle level.
Experience of the full product lifecycle from concept to launch
Experience of automotive product development systems and engineering and business release processes
Experience of leading the test and validation of audio systems including benchmarking
Practical experience with vehicle architectures, including A2B and CAN
Practical experience of diagnostic software tools, measurement, and calibration tools
Practical experience with PLM systems (Teamcenter) and CAD packages (CATIA – optional) and Vis Mockup (preferred)
Experience of delivering requirements in accordance with EMC requirements
Understanding of Functional Safety and safety analysis techniques
Understanding of Cyber Security requirements and principles
Excellent communication and co–ordination skills – at ease coordinating a team of engineers and suppliers
Flexible, enthusiastic, and methodical individual who is self–motivated, able to work well under own initiative and remain focused under pressure
Electrical, Electronic Systems, Electro–mechanical, Automotive, or similar honours engineering degree. Other recognized engineering qualifications combined with relevant significant experience may be considered
