Principal and Chief Executive – South West College
Our client, South West College, is committed to providing all of its 17,000 learners, with the skills they need to get a job and realise their full potential. It operates from five state–of–the–art campuses across Tyrone and Fermanagh. These learning environments are complemented by the College's ethos of care and well–being for its learners. With an annual turnover of GBP40m, and employing c750 people, the organisation makes a significant contribution to the people and businesses of the region.
The Further Education sector is undergoing change, particularly with the tightening of public sector budgets. This environment means the appointment comes at a time of opportunity and challenge for the College. The remit of the newly appointed Chief Executive will be to provide strategic leadership and position the College as a key stakeholder within the region, and as a leading organisation that transforms the life opportunities of its learners while playing a leading role in the future of the Further Education sector in Northern Ireland. The role is a broad and all–encompassing one, requiring significant leadership and management skills and the ability to work with a range of stakeholders from across the sector to meet the economic ambitions of the Northern Ireland economy.
The Chief Executive's overriding objective will be to ensure the College consistently delivers the best possible outcomes for learners based on a highly relevant curriculum and within a supportive learning environment. While this role does not necessitate experience in the education sector, it requires an inspirational leader who has successfully delivered transformational change in a large and complex organisation to enable the achievement of its strategic goals and objectives.
This exciting role offers a competitive salary level and a rare opportunity for a passionate senior leader to make a real difference to society within a key stakeholder organisation that improves the lives and futures of many people.
