Position: Director of Asset Management & Building Compliance
Location: Stoke–on–Trent
Salary: circa GBP65,000
Duration: Permanent

EPIC has been through the perfect storm and is in a period of recovery and improvement. As part of this recovery, they have created a new SMT structure to further strengthen their capabilities. This newly created role is part of that restructure with the core aim of leading EPIC forward from Recovery to regulatory compliance and achievement of the Corporate plan 2022/2025.

The post holder has the opportunity to lead and manage a new beginning and strong future for EPIC, its tenants, service users staff, and Board. Achieving the vision of being a good landlord will take the life of the plan. You will take the lead on a number of critical property related functions including Asset Management (all property services), Building compliance, Building safety and related health and safety.

There is clarity on the vision and direction of EPIC– we are now building the capacity & capability within the business to deliver on this into the future. It will be challenging and rewarding experience for those with the required skill, tenacity and passion.

Who would you be working with?

EPIC stands for Empowering People Inspiring Communities. They currently own just under 1,400 properties and work closely with three local authorities together with a range of partners to ensure their homes help to meet the needs of local people in Stoke on Trent, Newcastle under Lyme, and Staffordshire Moorlands. They have strong values and a clear mission to be a good landlord. These are fundamental to the implementation and delivery of this strategy and subsequent recovery and improvement plan.

What would be on your to–do list?

* Embed new governance practices and lead the governance review to support achievement of G1.

* Lead preparation, actions and evidence to support a positive IDA to reach G1 compliance.

* Review, update and implement operations and infrastructure in areas of responsibility and support similar across the organisation, including fire and building compliance and contract management.

* Formulate and implement an effective asset investment programme.

* Implement of compliance management and asset database system.

* Invest and build staff skill, knowledge and professionalism supporting the organisation's values.

Why might you be interested in the role?

* Proven successful leader and manager at a senior/higher level in a Social Housing organisation.

* Qualified in Building Asset Management –a member of appropriate building professional body (or qualified by experience)

* Experience of liaison with and/or reporting to Board level.

* Regulatory knowledge and experience.
