H9 Technical Recruitment are working with a leading, global technology supplier to the Energy from Waste market. Due continued success in the UK, they have a requirement for a Project Director, to manage and oversee the planning, installation, commissioning and handover of their technology package on a prestigious UK, Energy from Waste project.
As Project Director, you will be instrumental in winning projects but also find the balance of maintaining or increasing as sold project margin, while keeping safety and quality in the forefront of all involved.Role & Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate your team and ensure that we constantly make the best choices and pursue the right path forward.
- Manage time for the project, which means ensuring deadlines are met and proactively ensuring activities take place at the right time.
- Secure that we stay within the budgets and work to find additional opportunities.
- Ensure that we fulfil the requirements stipulated in the contract with our customer and all contractual obligations are met.
- Plan, coordinate, direct, and execute all day–to–day project activities according to set timelines and budget milestones.
- Report directly to the Director of Projects, EMEA.
- Be proactive in the proposal and costing phase of the project by working in concert with our sales/business development and proposal/estimating group.
- Oversee proposal and lead through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and warranty, until handover.
- Manage our scope of integrated solutions such as boiler, grates, pusher, slag handling, combustion air system and for some projects balance of plant.
- Lead, steer and optimise the project on time, budget, and quality in the full project life cycle.
- Take overall responsibility for all interface management with the customers, the global team and subcontractors to meet the project objectives.
Skills & Qualifications
- Construction/Project Management qualifications / degree would be advantageous (APM/Prince2/PMP)
- Engineering background / degree would be advantageous (Mechanical, Process, Industrial)
- Experienced in driving complex projects from start to finish within e.g. technology supply, process plants, biomass boilers, energy from waste equipment.
- Extensive experience from the construction phase.
- Multidisciplinary Engineering insight and experience.
- Previous experience from contract and claims management is an advantage.
- Good business acumen is impeccable allowing you to make financial surplus on your projects.
- Strong leader that is capable of overseeing complex situations, finding solutions and delivering results.
