Third Square have partnered with a leading real estate business based in the West End.
A vacancy has arisen for a part time (likely to be 17.5 hours per week or flexible working around things like school runs, split over 5 days) Divisional Finance Manager in a small team based in Central London. The team supports two Divisional Finance Directors in providing financial and non–financial information and support across 7 divisions.
The London–based team consists of two divisional finance directors, a management accountant and two assistant management accountant. The purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control function and the bulk of the nominal ledger work is conducted by a shared finance processing function.
The Role & Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, interpret, interrogate and present financial information to relevant stakeholders.
- Build trusted relationships with all key stakeholders (including Heads of Divisions, Department Heads, other Divisional Finance members, and Central Finance).
- Prepare annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts in conjunction with each Head of Department.
- Prepare detailed income forecasts with each team.
- Prepare a detailed cost plan with each Department and assist with the management of that plan.
- Prepare ad hoc business plans and appraisals for any growth initiative/recruitment.
- Present financial information at relevant divisional board and team meetings.
- Regularly attend team meetings to gain an insight into operations/performance and offer financial guidance and advice.
- Assist the Divisional Finance Director in the preparation of the annual remuneration plan for the Divisions.
- Provide a liaison between the Cambridge Central Finance team and the business.
- Form a close working relationship with the HR Business Partner and work with them on all staffing matters including joiners, leavers and remuneration changes.
- Work closely with the IT Business Partner to assist in the roll out new technology and ensure best practice within each Division.
- Develop a full understanding of all finance and business systems and consider improvements to systems and processes.
- Provide valuable MI that forms a base for key Divisional strategic decisions.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Experience
- Experience working in a similar role essential
- Prior experience in professional services would be advantageous.
Technical experience
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX is highly beneficial but is not essential
- Experience with PowerBI is highly beneficial but is not essential
- Excellent IT skills both in using and understanding how systems work.
Skills and Knowledge
- Chartered Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent).
- Ability to build strong and trusted relationships with business leaders.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise.
- Attention to detail.
- Helpful attitude and approach
- Clear communication skills both written and oral
- Experience of working in a fast moving and dynamic organisation.
