The Role

The Director of Housing Management helps shape the future of housing and defines the strategic role of the Council as a landlord. They will ensure the Council has housing provision of the highest standard for its residents and that services are tailored to the individual needs of communities. They ensure the highest levels of resident engagement and tenant participation in order to ensure the housing provision remains relevant and fit for purpose.

Responsibilities:

The Director of Housing Management is responsible for delivering a fit for purpose, relentlessly reliable, housing service. They will be responsible for delivering the outcomes, objectives and delivery plans as part of the Housing business plan. This plan builds trust in the Council and the system by being seen to be on the side of tenants in the delivery of high–quality housing and efficient and effective housing management. In particular the Director of Housing Management ensures that all landlord management services, caretaking, repairs, maintenance and planned works are delivered to the highest standards. In doing so the role also ensures that the service is safe and protects tenants from harm.
