Our client, a leading application provider within the workflow, asset and building management industry, have an excellent opportunity to work as a Head of Platform and Architecture to manage, support, and motivate the platform and architecture team. This role reports to the CTO and has management responsibilities for the platform and architecture area, plus focus on platform strategy; definition; and capabilities, to ensure a scalable and sustainable platform that will meet both short term as well as strategic goals.
Location: Remote with occasional travel to Cambridge and Fleet (Hampshire)

Our client's Head of Platform and Architecture has to have proven experience of working for a company providing enterprise or business software, SaaS solutions or closely aligned products or services, must be commercially aware, able to think laterally and to plan for the future, and in consequence, able to speak with and give confidence to stakeholders. Head of Platform and Architecture will also demonstrate an outstanding leadership, organisational, collaborative, inspirational, mentoring, and resource management skills, including experience of motivating and leading diverse, multi–discipline engineering teams.
Our ideal applicant will have/be:
Experience in defining, refining, and growing platform teams, providing guidance and direction on architecture and engineering approach.
Successful and accomplished platform engineering in a high–growth technology organization.
Demonstrably proficient with Cloud engineering, including experience across front–end technologies such as HTML and CSS, runtimes/languages such as Node.js and JavaScript, database skills, microservices, CI/CD pipelines, and Terraform.
Ability to lead by example, including the ability to be hands–on as required to help, review, guide and ensure the team is heading in the desired direction.
Experience of working for a company providing enterprise or business software, SaaS solutions or closely aligned products or services.
Must be able to work in a dynamic, rapidly evolving environment and interact with partners and customers directly.
Able to galvanise, build and develop teams, as well as to "take them on a journey", and to manage third party suppliers as part of that.
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, a natural team player and someone who can build effective relationships both internally and externally.
Previous line management of platform engineering teams that have grown in terms of engagement, connection, and size through both in–house and external resourcing.
A working knowledge of information security, risk management, and compliance requirements.
Knowledge of ISO9001, ISO27001
