NXTGEN are working with an award winning, rapidly expanding and scaling Tech company based in Cambridge to recruit a new position of Finance Manager. This is a high profile position which will take the day to day lead of the finance function in what is a fast paced and very dynamic environment. As Finance Manager you will have oversight for the month end close, ensuring all management accounts and accompanying commentary is delivered to stakeholders and the board, enabling quick and effective business decisions can be made. You'll also take ownership for the statutory close, producing all technical submissions for UK and international subsidiaries before consolidating the group report. As Finance Manager you will also play a key role in driving the business towards key financial objectives and continued growth. This will include the ongoing review of financial controls and policies to ensure they remain robust and mitigate potential risks and the organisation continues to evolve and scale. The Finance Manager will need a commercial mindset as you evaluate revenue projections, forecasts and business expenditures, identifying any required areas of cost saving as well as potential business growth opportunities.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Management of the statutory close for the group, consolidating reports from international subsidiaries to group deadlines
  • Oversee the delivery of the month end Management Accounts close, ensuring all balance sheet and general ledger accounts are accurately maintained
  • Provide detailed management information and financial insight to the board, identifying opportunities for financial growth
  • Take ownership for the Financial governance and controls of the business, identifying financial control improvements to ensure compliance
  • Control company cashflow, reviewing cash management strategies, FX risk and hedging opportunities
  • Business partner with a range of stakeholders across the group to provide advice and guidance on financial decisions and queries

The successful candidate will be fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) and will be confident working in a fast paced, dynamic and scaling environment. A good technical accounting background and experience with international consolidation is highly desirable combined with a commercial mindset. Candidates looking to make the move straight from practice will be considered for the role and you'll ideally have experience within a leading firm. Those applicants currently in industry will ideally have prior experience within a Technology/Software environment or will have worked in fast growing start up/scale up businesses. You will also be confident working in a high profile position, interacting with a range of senior stakeholders and the executive team.
