We are looking for an experienced candidate at Senior Management level, that would be suitable for Director of Children's Services opportunity. This is a nationwide role, so overnight stays may be required. You will be based from home with the expectation of extensive travel. This is a fantastic opportunity for any candidates that have experience in growing a childcare company, and that have multi–site experience within a similar sector.The company provide residential support to children that have Learning Disabilities. Currently 4 homes are open but there are huge growth plans in place to make this company a market leader. Commercial background is essential.Key Responsibilities of a Director of Children's Services:
- Direct responsibility for the children's residential and community services and developing further residential and education provision nationally
- Overseeing the operations of the organisation and making any necessary changes to meet business goals and projections
- Monitoring the organisation's operational processes to ensure that they meet required standards and taking steps to improve them.
- Developing and controlling Operational Budgets to ensure that the company has all the resources required to meet its objectives within agreed financial parameters and to maintain the financial strength of the company.
- Developing strategies for the growth of the organisation and making sure they are implemented.
- As a strategic leader the postholder will develop our work with children, young people and their families in order to respond to emerging needs quickly and efficiently ensuring the highest quality of interventions and services are delivered.
- A strategic, inspirational and aspirational leader in Children's Services with a drive to ensure excellence for children, young people and their families.
- Depth and breadth of management experience across a range of service areas including education and residential care for children.
- Detailed understanding of the budgeting required to operate children's services effectively, including placement values, care plans, staffing levels, agency usage, contingency planning etc.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance and quality standards that apply to children's homes and services
- Flexibility and responsiveness to managing problems with a Solution Focussed attitude and approach
- Excellent communication and personal skills around engagement, leadership, workforce development and change management
