My client, who has recently celebrated 80 years of Manufacturing excellence, is looking for a Head of Supply Chain join their Healthcare Diagnostics business based at their site in Suffolk. As a part of the Site Leadership team you will contribute to the execution and development of the site strategy. As Head of Supply Chain you will be responsible for the sites supply and demand planning, tactical procurement, and the site supply chain function including materials and warehousing. The responsibilities of this role will include;
  • Establish a budget of operations and ensure that budgeted production goals are achieved and cost objectives are met.
  • Formulate and implement operating policies and objectives or changes in existing policies and objectives. Ensure compliance with and implementation of approved policies and objectives.
  • Responsible for understanding the Quality Management System and integrating the quality policy and business objectives into work practices to augment the business such as: participating in internal audits, identifying areas which need improvement, implementing plans to correct and prevent problems.
  • Liaise closely with the global planning team to effectively integrate the S&OP results into the local planning and production processes.
  • Lead the local team that plans and schedules production, including the master scheduling process, capacity planning and the administration and use of systems.
  • Lead site procurement processes including the development and implementation of plans that reduce costs, increase accuracy of purchases and resolve issues with suppliers and accounts payable
  • Lead the site warehouse operations to include material receiving, material storage, production order picking, floor supply and product shipment. Manage and optimise inventory levels locally and through the global supply chain.
  • Lead the local customer service organisation where appropriate to manage orders that support the shipment of goods to the primary distribution centres, affiliates, or end customers
  • Responsible for local oversite of Export Controls & Customs for the site, ensuring compliance with corporate governance policies as well as local requirements.
  • Partner with Strategic Procurement team in the management of approved vendors and in alignment with business strategy.
  • Ownership of logistic and 3PL management and looking at how you can develop a carbon neutral supply chain.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following skills and experience;
  • Extensive experience in operations/manufacturing, preferably in the medical diagnostics or other regulated industry industry.
  • In–depth understanding of manufacturing processes and quality management system.
  • Must possess previous management experience, with demonstrated ability to lead and motivate people and drive results.
  • Previous experience in a FDA and/or ISO regulated environment.
  • Technical skills in Quality, Lean Manufacturing techniques, Kaizen, Process Improvement, distribution, materials management and production scheduling preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or other relevant field preferred.
