Head of Energy, Marine and Aviation Claims

A City based insurance company are looking for a Head of Energy, Marine & Aviation Claims for their London Market claims teams. These teams handle claims flowing from their respective London underwriting units, as well as providing oversight of all Marine accounts written by their European offices.The successful candidate will be able to provide insight and analysis on complex high profile/high exposure losses across these lines of business, develop the existing claims teams for these lines, manage metrics and reporting requirements and deliver agreed upon claim service to clients and brokers in a timely andprofessional mannerDuties and Responsibilities:Take a leading role in negotiating claims settlements and establishing adequate claims reserves.Foster and manage relationships with clients and brokers.Lead claims interactions with Insurance customers and brokers.Manage relationships with service providers, including TPAs, outsource providers and panel lawyers and adjusters.Provide colleagues with claim trending and other MI designed to continually improve quality of underwriting.Act as a senior leader within the claims function and mentor and help train other more junior members of the team.Develop the company profile and reputation within the Energy, Marine & Aviation markets.Accountabilities:Claims settlement and reserving at case and portfolio level.Provision and interpretation of claims related management information.Overseeing adjusting process with particular focus on large losses.Claims market interface as required representing either individual cases or whole company.
