What is the role?
This role is for someone who is willing to head up our internal accounts department and support the directors with the internal monthly reporting.
The individual will be responsible for dealing with the following, although this is not an exhaustive list:–
* Reconciling the bank and other control accounts;
* Accounting for nonsales/purchase ledger items and associated journals;
* Preparation of monthly management accounts;
* Preparation of internal job management reports from the accounting system;
* Preparation of quarterly VAT returns;
* Preparation of CIS returns and compliance;
* Managing the supplier/subcontractor payment process, including set up of bank payments as required;
* Dealing with supplier/customer queries;
* Overseeing the credit control function;
* Management and upkeep of Sage 200 accounting system.
The individual will also oversee the accounts team, which consists of a Sales Ledger Clerk and a Purchase Ledger Clerk, and will report directly to the Directors. The individual will also liaise with other staff members and subcontractors as required.
You need to be a highly motivated individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will need to have an accounting qualification from a reputable professional body. Experience in the construction sector is desired but not essential. The company uses Sage 200 as its accounting software, and so experience with using this software would also be desired. You will also need to have good competence in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
WAGES/HOURS OF WORK OFFERED:
35 hours per week, 9am to 5pm (with an hour for lunch).
Competitive salary (subject to experience and qualifications). (GBP50k–60k)
