Operations Director
Alfreton
GBP80,000 – GBP90,000 depending on experience
This is a rare opportunity for a talented individual with strong international operational experience at site level, along with expert knowledge around transport operations ideally gained within a 3PL business or substantial closed book operations. You will be joining a modern logistics business and as an active and engaged senior board member will make a valuable contribution to taking forward the business plan and maximising profitability while ensuring operational excellence and creating a customer–centric operation.
Key Responsibilities:
You will be given scope to set up your own team and ways of working, where your engaging and open leadership style will come to the fore along with your previous experience of setting up a new department, venture or company
Advocating operational excellence, process improvement and best practice
Getting to the heart of operational issues when required
Managing suppliers and customers to agreed SLA's
Key Skills/Experience:
Experienced negotiator, particularly around complex logistics services
Experience running international transport operations
Sound knowledge of supply chain systems and technologies and able to identify appropriate use cases for deployment
Inquisitive and challenging when required, with an eye for detail, without losing sight of strategic objectives.
Willingness to embrace change and constantly adapt ways of working are a must as the company scales–up its operations.
Experience handling mergers and acquitisions
Challenging but exciting times are ahead as you identify more efficient /productive operating methods, review systems and introduce new technologies. This is a role where you could definitely make an impact and set your own parameters for success.
