Health, Safety & Environmental Business Partner (Field Based, South/Midlands UK)

We are looking for an experienced H&S professional, with previous experience of managing multi–sites.

You will be accountable for managing and monitoring all Health and Safety performance and statutory compliance across your regional sites. You will therefore need to be prepared to travel.

You will proactively provide practical help, guidance and support to all our dealerships and offices, fostering a culture of safety. You will ensure all managers and colleagues have the knowledge, skills and capability to maintain a safe working environment in line with our standards.

You will work as part of the H&S team in resolving any H&S issues by providing a high level of customer service.

Promoting a positive Health & Safety culture throughout, encouraging and setting best–practice examples to people across all levels of the business
Provide first line support to all colleagues, where necessary, to ensure a smooth experience when using H&S systems and maintain these systems
Conducting regional Health, Safety and Environmental Assurance Reviews/Audits on a regular basis, focusing on the key risks identified by the business. Ability to translate findings into a report, driving actions, whilst providing support and encouraging performance improvements across sites
Ensure that effective risk assessment processes are in place for all the site activities, including general risk assessments, COSHH, Manual Handling, Noise, DSE, and other statutory requirements. Practical experience in producing suitable and sufficient risk assessments
Responsible for identifying hazards and communicating those hazards to management, advise on actions to prevent the realisation of those hazards
Responsible for supporting the Head of Health and Safety in driving the culture that every employee has a responsibility to proactively manage risk and ensure a safe work environment
Accountable for supporting the business with investigating accidents, dangerous occurrences, near misses and ensuring the implementation of effective corrective action
Identification of Health–related risks causes of ill health and other trends, through data analysis. Report on insights and advise on any proposed remedial actionsThe Ideal Candidate
Previous experience of working in a Health and Safety role
A recognised Health and Safety qualification
Qualified Lead Auditor is advantageous
Previous experience is managing multi–sites is also an advantage
Ability to support and advise sites on system use, policy and procedures
Must possess an eye for detail
Used to working at pace in a fast–moving organisation
Highly competent in standard Microsoft software (Excel and PowerPoint)
Experience of working with H&S Management systems – Inchcape's global H&S Management system is Cintellate
Good interpersonal skills and an ability to work with people of all levels within the business
Highly collaborative when working with other HR and business colleagues to achieve common goals
