Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Financial Controller will occupy an integral role within the Finance Team by assuming direct responsibility for controllership, management accounting and statutory reporting on behalf of the business. Hertfordshire based.
The successful candidate will possess a continuous desire to drive process improvements whilst supporting key stakeholders and wider operational teams via the provision of astute financial information.

Financial Controller Responsibilities:
- Consistently improving both financial systems and processes
- Monthly management accounts preparation
- Producing annual statutory accounts
- Budgeting and cashflow management/forecasting
- Overseeing both accounts payable and receivable including payment processes
- Liaising with key third party advisors across payroll and pensions, audit and tax
- Managing and developing one direct report (with plans for team growth in the future)
- Undertaking strategic, ad-hoc projects
- Qualified finance professional (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Demonstrable experience in maintaining and optimising financial systems and processes
- An appetite for delivering accurate, timely and high quality information to the Director of Finance and senior leaders
- A strong communicator with a desire to support stakeholders throughout the business
- Outstanding technical accounting knowledge
- Experience in managing, motivating and coaching teams
- Emotionally intelligent with a desire to create and nurture and positive, collaborative working environment.
- Strong Excel skills essential and previous Xero experience advantageous
